A Forklift truck is a truck that is designed to lift and transport heavy objects by placing steel forks underneath the load.

It is a common requirement to need to weigh an item that is being lifted. The technologies for lifting are well established, as are those for weighing, but in the case of the fork lift truck, it is the constant movement of the lifting part that causes the most trouble for the weighing part.

This is because of the damage that can occur to cables and wires that connect the weighing components (usually load cells and amplifier or digitisers) and the static part, which is where the operator is sitting.

One easy solution for this problem is to use a wireless telemetry system to obtain the weight result from the weighing part and transmit it to the static part.
