The Problem
When ploughing or pulling a rigid line cultivator there is a need to modulate the throttle setting according to loads on the three-point linkage. The problem was to develop a kit which could be fitted to tractors currently without automatic throttle control.
The Solution
Load pins fitted in place of the link pins during load attachment used an ICA5S as signal conditioners to transmit load data to the tractor’s throttle controller. The miniature signal conditioner is designed for embedded OEM applications and in this instance, provided automatic instantaneous adjustment of power setting which reduced both driver fatigue and fuel costs.
