Steering Torque Sensors for Assessment Situations

When circumstances prevent a person from driving a standard car, tests have to be carried out to assess the driver’s current ability to steer and brake so the vehicle can be adapted for use.

Torque Measurement Using Wireless Technology

Formula SAE is an international engineering competition where student teams compete with single-seater race cars they have designed and built themselves.  The team designed a new differential assembly for the 2011 prototype. Theoretical calculations are always a good approach when designing from scratch, but validation and data acquisition are a must for its development.

Wireless Torque Measurement

Lotus Engineering, the consultancy division of Lotus Cars Limited, approached Mantracourt to provide a bespoke system of measuring torque on a steering column. This system would need to replace a costly and fragile wiring arrangement with a wireless link system that could be easily re-used.

If you have an application for Mantracourt telemetry systems and strain gauge signal converters for torque sensors measurement we are here to help, please contact us.
