Signal Conditioning for OEM Load Cells

The Problem:

This application was intended as a retrofit kit for tractors that do not have automatic throttle control to modulate throttle setting according to loads on the three-point linkage when ploughing or pulling a rigid tine cultivator.

The Solution:

Load pins fitted in place of the link pins during load attachment used an ICA5S as signal conditioners to transmit load data to the tractor’s throttle controller. The miniature signal conditioner is designed for embedded OEM applications and in this instance, provided automatic instantaneous adjustment of power setting which reduced both driver fatigue and fuel costs.
